Buchanan House is a ten storey 17,500 m² office block in Central Glasgow. Built by British Rail in 1975 it was re-clad in 2003 with a new curtain wall and rainscreen cladding panelling. 

 

Technical difficulties arose with the replacement curtain wall and rainscreen cladding. Gunn Lennon were commissioned to design and install a trial area of remedial works comprising an area fourteen metres wide by nine storeys high.

 

This was subjected to intensive engineering analysis and external testing by the Design Team. The trial area has been successfully completed and further work is pending.
