The design requirement was that the six metre high glazing was to be free standing without the aid of central mid spanning steel beams. To achieve the free vertical span of six metres a bespoke 250 mm deep aluminium mullion was extruded from the Schueco FW 60ᶧ range. The profiles are dual colour – black anodised externally and natural silver anodised internally.

 

The large insulated glass units are approximately 2.0 m wide x 3.0 m high and comprise clear toughened glass and Planitherm Ultra N Low E to deal with wind load and thermal requirements.

 

The project also features large format lift and slide doors for vehicle access.
